Bancassurance Officer

Duties and responsibilities:

  1. Execution of day-to-day insurance operations, which entails new business development and cross-selling of insurance products, claims administration and documentation
  2. Timely follow-up on renewals to ensure business retentions that would otherwise lead to income leakages.
  3. Develop good working relationships with various Departments, working closely with branches, the business development & credit team to generate insurance business and leads through their customers.
  4. Ensure customer inquiries are resolved promptly as per laid-down policies and procedures.
  5. Champion insurance products training at the Branch level to sensitize both staff and customers on insurance products.
  6. Ensure compliance with all regulatory and internal procedures in regard to Bancassurance business
  7. Providing timely and accurate quotations within the turnaround times.
  8. Gathering market intelligence to ensure updated product range.
  9. Identifying client needs and recommending suitable insurance solutions.

Knowledge; Skills and Experience required for this Role

  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Computer literate and possessing excellent presentation skills.
  • Extensive knowledge and experience in Bancassuarance in a MFI.

Academic qualification

  • Bachelor’s degree in a Business-related field.
    • Over 3 years’ experience in an MFI.
    • Professional membership by AKII
    • Understanding of and experience with Insurance products and processes

Problem Solving

  • Excellent analytical, problem identification and solving skills.
